Spin or Bin Music is looking for talented music critics and social media enthusiasts!

We’re seeking social media enthusiasts to critique new videos and songs as well as highlight old favourites. The incumbents are to select and highlight some of the best music writing on the web, to analyse trends and events in the music world, and to generally come with lots of creative ideas to be a part of the blog’s continued growth into a vital community area on Spin or Bin Music.

1. LOCAL CORRESPONDENT

Do you live in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, or Manila? Do you like writing? Can you tell us what’s going on in your corner of the country? Then Spin or Bin Music wants you!

We are looking for local correspondents to blog for us, as well as to recommend and review international music events in your area.

Please send an e-mail describing your background (including where you are from) and relevant experiences, along with two recent music-related writing samples (preferably reviews) and/or blog address to spinorbinmusic@gmail.com. The subject line should read: Spin or Bin Music Local Correspondent Application.

2. BLOGGER (FEATURE ARTICLES)/ ALBUM REVIEWER

Feature pieces look at a particular artist, genre, trend or happening within the music world. They also look at the intersection between music and other cultural forms such as film, TV, multimedia, fashion, and politics. These pieces can also include artist interviews.

In features, we are recruiting for people who can commit to at least three features per week. The incumbents have to write well and also possess relevant skills in taking and editing pictures/ videos.

Album reviewers should possess a solid writing style deeply rooted within a love for music, and a generous amount of commitment to the blog.

3. SOCIAL MEDIA

We are also recruiting for music enthusiasts who spend 24 hours a day on Facebook and Twitter – People who can commit to tweeting even when they are asleep.

If you score 10 out of 10 on the below qualities, we want you!

1. Know how to engage followers
2. Actively maintain various Twitter/ Facebook lists
3. Efficient with hashtags
4. Post useful information
5. Follow people who produce valuable content
6. Suggest interesting people for others to follow
7. Not afraid to say “Thanks”
8. Use direct messages when necessary
9. Retweet/ Like useful content
10. Post witty replies
