Xinyi

This gave me goosebumps.

Yes, we know Zayn is no longer part of One Direction and the remaining guys are still on a break partaking in some solo stuff. But this mashup fulfilled my directioner heart and sort of brought me back to the good ole days. This minute long video combines the greatness of all of their debut solo tracks (This Town, Sign Of The Times, Just Hold On and Pillowtalk) in one.

For each of them, the release of their first solo single marks the start of a new era. A new era that we will see unfold before our eyes in the near future. As cliché as it sounds, it is actually really heart-warming to see the boys branching out into their individual style of music and the success from it is just the icing on the cake.

Eminik is known for mashing up tracks mainly from pop stars and he posts them on his YouTube channel.

PS: We’re still waiting for that solo debut Liam!

From the days of #Selfie to Something Just Like This, The Chainsmokers have been dominating charts worldwide and winning the hearts of many.

To celebrate the release of their (long awaited) debut album Memories… Do Not Open, we had a chat with the guys about their music, each other and of course if they were going to tour Asia.

Drew and Alex also left a very special message at the end, enjoy!

1. What is your favorite song on 'Memories...Do Not Open’? Why?

Oh man we can’t possibly pick a favorite! We literally change our opinion on it every day. A couple of our favorites though are Honest, Bloodstream, My Type and Last Day Alive! Each of these songs either have a really important message, touch on an experience that’s important to us or just feels like a really exciting new direction with our production.

2. Tell us an interesting event that happened during the making of 'Memories...Do Not Open’.

When Drew went to the lunch we recorded the sound of a shit and put it in the song and wanted to see if he noticed, he did and it was really funny, then we started messing with the sound design and it ended up sounding like a really good snare so we actually kept it in it. Not gonna say which song.

3. How did the collaboration for ‘Something Just Like This’ come about?

We had heard that they listened to our music before their shows sometimes and we reached out asking if they might ever want to get together, and we got lucky because they were. They were extremely easy to work with, and we don’t mean like complacent, they are so involved and care so much about the music which made it even more fun. We never made a song the same way this one came together. We were in the studio and we found some chirds we all liked and next thing you know Chris jumps up and starts free styling, a few hours later he had written the verses!

4. What is your favorite collaboration to date? Why?

People always ask us that and we aren’t going to ever say, each one has been so amazing and taught us so much… our favorite person ever though is Emily warren who we have collaborated on a number of songs with!

5. What is the best part of doing what do you? Writing music or performing live?

Honestly, it would suck to do just one exclusively.. We write music and we love it but then we want to see people react to it, then we see people react to it and we get inspired and want to write more music.

6. Could you share with us one musician that you've listened to as a child that has heavily influenced your current style?

Easy, Blink 182!!!

7. If you could choose a theme song to reflect your lives, what would it be and why?

Hahaha it would have to be the James Bond theme, it doesn’t make any sense we just love it and would make us look really badass!

8. How would you describe each other in 3 words?

Drew - Focused, Ambitious, Loyal

Alex - Goofy, Organized, Ambitious

9. Who is the first one to forgive the other when there is a conflict among yourselves?

We really don’t fight like that but we are pretty stubborn when we do and then we just get over it super fast.

10. If you could add any other artist to The Chainsmokers, who and why?

It would be sick to merge with 21 pilots!

11. Now that we know what the best part of doing what you do is, what would you say is the most difficult part of being The Chainsmokers?

Just being away from our families, we are sort of workaholics and become consumed by our work and sometimes we lose sight of that… it’s a good problem…

12. We definitely have to ask this one, any plans to tour Asia?

YES some big ones, we cant say much more than that yet

13. Lastly, what message would you like to give to your Singaporean fans?

Singapore we love you guys so much, even though its been a while since we have been able to visit you always support us so much and we love you for that and we promise to make it up to you when I get back!

Known for their killer harmonies and amazing vocals, Pentatonix is arguably the best a capella group in this era.

Their brand EP PTX Vol. IV Classics will be out on April 7th, but before that they released a little teaser for their upcoming album, Bohemian Rhapsody.

Originally sung by Queen, the guys of Pentatonix gave it a little remake and transformed it to their classic style. Their combination of vocals, basslines, riffing, percussion and beatboxing truly amazes me.

Please take a moment to listen to this beautiful cover that will give you the chills.

Honestly, I rate this track a solid 4.5 out of 5 and I cannot wait for what is to come on their new EP. Check out the track list here!

Netizens React To Solo Harry Styles

Yes, you read that right.

One Direction’s Harry Styles will be the third member from the band to release solo material ever since their hiatus.

This comes after Niall Horan’s This Town and Louis Tomlinson’s collaboration with Steve Aoki on Just Hold on. According to Billboard, this mysterious advertisement was aired in the UK and of course eagle-eyed fans instantly recognised the singer.

By the looks of it, we can expect new material from Harry on April 7!

Well, if you are still not convinced. The singer has pulled out the 3 blank posts on Instagram again, just like the ones he posted before the release of his Another Man magazine covers.

Definitely looks like we are in for a treat!

Here are some of the best reactions to this breaking news!

Now, please excuse me while I mark my calendars.

Looks like 25th of March is a day for Directioners!

Those eyes ~

Let the countdown begin!

#Aca-awkward…

For all of us, there will be that one or two incidents where someone mispronounces or misspells our name.

Here are the 5 most awkward incidents where our favourite artists’ names get misspelled or mispronounced.

#1 – Alex Pall from The Chainsmokers

This would be the most recent case, the guys Alex and Drew appeared on MTV’s Ridiculousness and they decided to change Alex’s name to Adam. Will The Chainsmokers consist of Adam and Drew from now on?

#2  - Niall Horan from One direction

On the other hand, this goes way back to the days of when the One Direction boys were on X Factor UK. Oh boy, Niall looks so upset that they got his name wrong. 5 years later, the poor boy’s last name was misspelled during a press event for the band’s fifth album Made In The AM.

#3 – Idina Menzel

At the 2014 Oscars, John Travolta was doing so well in his introduction till he reached Idina Menzel’s name where he pronounced something completely different. Oops! He then later went on Jimmy Kimmel Live to explain his blunder.

#4 – Camila Cabello

Although it isn’t clear if Camila Cabello’s name was misspelled in all the 7/27 CD booklets worldwide but it did kick up a little bit of a storm on Twitter. Oh no!

#5 - Barbra Streisand

Oh Siri! In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Barbra Streisand revealed that Siri was mispronouncing her name and she called Tim Cook to fix it.

Bonus #6 – Justin Bieber’s Purpose Tour Merchandise

Well, don’t worry no one has gotten Justin Bieber’s name wrong but his team made a slight mistake by not proofreading his tour merchandise before the first date. Is Justin on his Purpose Tour or Purose Tour?

Do you remember her?

Or her?

Maybe her?

If you said yes to all 3 of them, you are in for a treat! Ashley Tisdale took to her Snapchat (ashleymtisdale) to reveal that they are working together on a track titled Trophy Boy. The song will be part of the soundtrack from their upcoming animated movie Charming. Besides providing the vocals for the track, Ashley, Avril and Demi will also be playing Cinderella, Snow White and Lenore respectively. The soundtrack and film will also feature fellow artists like Sia and Steve Aoki.

Even though there are no details on the song yet (or even the release date), we can tell it will definitely be amazing. Can’t wait!

Artist To Watch Out For: Sarah Close

That angelic voice though.

Sarah Close is a 21-year old YouTube cover artist from the Isle of Wight (but she currently lives in London). She is known for stripping back popular songs and letting her vocals and piano instrumentals do the talking. But in all honesty, her voice is all we need.

Sarah has just announced the release of her new single, Call Me Out, (out on March 3) and her upcoming EP, Caught Up, (out on April 14). Mark your calendars because I’m sure it’ll be a treat!

But till then, here are some of our favorite covers she has put up. Keep up the work and can’t wait to hear what is in store for us!

These could possibly be the best love song covers you’ll ever hear. Internet's supercouple Gabriel Conte and Jess Conte have swept the world off their feet with their love story and they are about to again with their new cover EP, Under The Covers.

Here’s a little about them...

Gabriel Conte is an actor and comedian from Miami and he first rose to fame through Vine, where he would post short funny skits. At the same time, he started his YouTube channel, which currently has raked up more than a million subscribers. On the other hand, Jess Conte is a cover artist and beauty guru from Australia. Similarly, she rose to fame through her YouTube channel (or also known as BauerBirds). Last August, the couple started a joint YouTube channel where they post vlogs and pretty much became relationship goals.

Their first ever EP, Under The Covers, features their rendition of five popular love songs including John Legend’s Love Me Now and Andy Grammar’s Fresh Eyes. The couple stripped things back and kept their covers simple (which is all that they need, really!), with a great focus on their amazing voices. Speaking to Billboard, Gabriel and Jess revealed that the entire EP was recorded in just 3 days and that it was the first time they worked in a professional recording studio together.

Overall, I’ll give this EP a 4 hearts out of 5 and I’m excited to hear what they have in store for us in the future. Maybe an original album?
