We Are The In Crowd Premieres Music Video For ‘Kiss Me Again’ Featuring Alex Gaskarth

In the midst of the music scene’s obsession with “gettin’ paper”, “gettin’ laid”, and putting names on birthday cakes (hint: Read lyrics to Rihanna and Chris Brown’s Birthday Cake), it is comforting to know there are actually bands with real, heartfelt songs capable of salvaging the situation.
Just last week, we wrote about Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low lending his vocals for We Are The In Crowd’s latest single Kiss Me Again. And now, the long-awaited (for me, at least,) music video has finally checked in with the World Wide Web!
The video boasts a tale of two teenagers, obviously in love, but too darn afraid to make a move. It doesn’t help that Alex and Taylor’s friends are totally clueless about their major cockblocking. Imagine how many kisses the couple would’ve finally gotten if Cameron hadn’t interrupted “THE moment”. Shame on you, C-man! And yes, just kisses. No mention of jumping each other’s bones in the backseat. There is hope in modern music, after all!
I love how they kept it “real” with the setting and props. Forget big, poofy prom gowns that only girls in My Super Sweet 16 can afford. Taylor looked just as stunning in a fuss-free, inexpensive dress and a cute little flower in her hair. Plus, the vehicle is just a plain Honda SUV, which most of us would be familiar with, compared to yellow Lamborghinis.
So at any point of time you feel that teenagers are churning out crappy, meaningless material to sell off to music labels with more money to produce even more crappy, meaningless songs, spend 3 minutes on this and you’ll feel better in no time.
Have you got your tickets to We Are The In Crowd’s show in Singapore on April 3 yet?

The Fact Checkers Unit: Does DMC (from Run-DMC) Really Think He Is A King?

After an award-winning first season, the Fact Checkers Unit has returned for a second season at a new workplace – SWAG magazine.
In this latest episode, Brian Sacca and Peter Karinen are tasked by crazy boss Jordache to find whether DMC from Run-DMC really think he is a king and has locked himself up in a castle. The duo’s friendship gets tested to the limit as they break into the castle hand in hand with their Samsung GALAXY note to check that fact. Previous episodes include celebrities such as Moby, T-Pain, Kyle Gass, Mark McGrath and TJ Miller.
While the story of a team of magazine fact checkers who will go to the strangest extremes to check on nonsense celebrity facts has been done before, the show succeeds by poking fun with deadpan humour. Besides, the quick webisodes make it the perfect length for the topic. Known as one of the most influential acts in the history of hip hop culture, maybe it took a while for DMC’s (Darryl McDaniels) comic abilities to surface. Who knew the front man has a deadpan sense of humour that would make Jim Carrey smile as well? Wait. Probably even laugh. Whatever the reason, his guest starring role in this series is definitely a must-see. It’s already attracted more than 97,000 hits on YouTube.
Watch the ‘Fly Like A Buttress’ episode of FCU: Fact Checkers Unit season two below:
I heard Jennifer Lopez and Bradley Cooper are dating. Can someone fact check to confirm this rumour?

Samsung Stage: The Ultimate YouTube Contest for Talents

Samsung is giving away $25,000 worth of prizes to talented peeps around the globe in a YouTube contest! The contest has since closed BUT there are some pretty amazing videos uploaded by the participants.
I was so amazed by the video of a man who drew a picture using his hair! While he took less than 2 minutes to complete the drawing, I am sure he spent years perfecting his art. I’ve seen artists draw using sand but this is so unique! Seriously, I can’t even draw that with a pencil.
There are also a couple of funny videos… One of which is a bunch of bored colleagues at work who needed to kill time. Since they couldn’t find any gym equipment in the office, the ‘talented’ peeps decided to improvise and used a human body to bench press instead. They ought to be complimented for being resourceful. Really.
Another clip which caught my attention is a singer who did an orginal soulful track. The man just took multi-tasking to a whole new level – beatboxing, singing AND playing the keys all at the same time!
All the videos are available on YouTube so vote for your favourites right away!
The grand finals will be held between January 9-23, 2012 with the ultimate winner taking home a grand prize of US$10,000 in cold hard cash! Mr/Ms Talented will also get a chance to star in their own professionally produced video!
Check out the Samsung Galaxy Note S Pen technology! Bringing your music to life has never been easier with this awesome technology!

Foo Fighters: ‘Bridge Burning’ Teaser + New Album Details

When Foo Fighters released their Greatest Hits album awhile back, most of us would have expected the worse. Usually when artistes release greatest hits albums it could mean two things; (a) we are splitting up soon, so a greatest hits album is our farewell gift OR (b) here is a bunch of our awesome songs, we’re going to go chill and would probably come back in 5 or so years. Thankfully, for you Foo Fighters fans, neither one of the options is applicable in this case.
With their yet-to-be titled seventh album to be released on April 12, the band, I’m pretty sure, is slated for a full fledged comeback. A teaser of a new song off the new album has already been leaked. While only a few seconds long, Bridge Burning already sounds more than promising. If the whole album is going to sound like that tiny leaked snippet of Bridge Burning, then I would expect to see the album to be flying off the racks. Once they come out with something good, Foo Fighters would get everyone jumping to their feet. I mean, remember Best Of You anyone?
Also, to add to the hype of their new album, the band recently performed at a sold out show on January 28. Set at the Velvet Jones club in Santa Barbara, they gave a full showcase of all the new songs on the upcoming album and also played a collection of their greatest hits. Rarely played songs like Watershed were also on the band’s set list for that day as well.
Added with a few upcoming shows and a world tour planned in the very near future, Foo Fighters’ comeback is going to be one hell of a rocking ride. A very fruitful 2011 for them perhaps?
Check out the brief teaser for Bridge Burning:
