Toni Braxton And Babyface Never Meant To ‘Hurt You’

By  October 15, 2013

Both Toni Braxton and Babyface haven’t had a legitimate hit in over a decade, but Hurt You may potentially be the song to change their fortunes.

Reaching back into the mid-nineties, when both singers were huge, the tune is sweet and sour, raspy and smooth in all the right places. Both singers bellow out the song with such soul and emotion, this pairing just seems natural.

The video only makes the song so much better. A mash-up of Adam Lambert’s Better Than I Know Myself and Brandy and Monica’s The Boy is Mine, the video sees Toni and Babyface separated by a wall at first, but it slowly crumbles as the song progresses, but never once touching.

If the god’s of music (and the listeners) know what’s good, they’d send this song straight into the Top 40 and make it a certified hit.

Hurt You is the first single off Toni Braxton’s and Babyface’s collaboration album Love, Marriage and Divorce, to be released on the 3rd of December.

Listen to Hurt You below.
