It's dark, it's dramatic, and it's like a soup opera. That was the little tease Carrie Underwood dropped a while back. All dressed up in black (and looking rather fierce), Carrie is out for blood in Two Black Cadillacs, her third single off her platinum-selling fourth album, Blown Away.
Carrie and the wife decides to take justice into their own hands after discovering that they have both been played by the same cheating man. Karma is a bitch, and Carrie gets her sweet revenge in this short dark film, directed by P.R. Brown.
I've always preferred the bad-ass, butt kicking side of the sassy American Idol winner compared her good girl image. She's previously shown us that she is not one to be messed with in Before He Cheats; she got all sexy and sultry in Cowboy Casanova, but Two Black Cadillacs may just be her best one yet!
A little FYI. Having been inspired by Stephen King's novel 'Christine', she even got the author's blessings to incorporate his story into the music video! The result is another flawless performance and an interesting story despite a creepy one.
Some of y'all may be trying to make sense of the Cadillac car popping its dents back to shape, and how the car ended up driving the two ladies away? Well, when the husband died, his spirit went into the car and became the car (if that makes any sense). That is why it was able to mend itself. At the funeral, Carrie lays the car keys on the casket, indicating to us that his spirit is the one that is doing the driving.
Cool and eerie at the same time.
