The Voice Season 4: New Coaches vs. Old Coaches

By  January 6, 2013

Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green may have taken a hiatus from The Voice, but R&B crooner, Usher, and Colombian singing sensation, Shakira, are already making themselves feel right at home in their big red swivel chair. Judging by the looks of it, they mean business!

Usher and Shakira will be up against tough competition, since Team Adam Levine won in season 1 while Team Blake Shelton has had two back-to-back wins last year. No doubt Blake and Adam will have the upper hand during the blind auditions but don't be too quick to underestimate the new mentors though.

Already proving a force to be reckon with, Shakira shared: "I stole a couple of contestants from [Adam]." "[Shakira] is a pregnant, hormonal Colombian. She’s ready to bust some heads. She ain’t messing around!" affirmed Adam. Fellow coach Usher also revealed: "[Shakira is] comic relief, super fucking serious, and gangster. She’s so nice now but she really pulls out that switchblade in the battle."

"My style is more military than anything because I’m all about the preparation. My style is to make them understand the seriousness of the craft and that they have the very best opportunity to be the greatest—or the worst—depending on how you take it," added the 34-year-old R&B singer.

It is no secret that Usher played a huge part in launching Justin Bieber's career and has already gained the respect of Adam. "As much as I hate to say this about another coach in the beginning, Usher has done what this show has yet to do—launch a superstar and that’s our goal. That’s something we want to do as an institution," shared Adam.

There has been several changes leading up to Season 3, including the 'steals' and the knockout rounds. However, it has been confirmed that there won't be anymore changes for the next season apart from the new coaches.

I for one, can't wait for those chairs to spin around come March when the NBC reality singing competition premiers. Of the four, which team are you most excited for?
