Florence Welch Takes A Deserving Break After 5 Years!

By  November 19, 2012

Florence Welch is putting The Machine on idle for a year before she starts performing with it again.

This 26-year old has definitely reached the peak of her music career (if otherwise, she has always been at the peak) after two very successful albums – Lungs and Ceremonials. The past five years have been incredible and intense for Welch because she hasn’t stopped touring since her sudden shot into the industry. Spent, she plans to go on a one-year hiatus to take a deserving breather after the end of her tour next month.

This rabbit-hearted girl seems to have already planned her one-year hiatus carefully. She’s going to do “normal things,” just like any other girls, “go to the supermarket and hang out with my (Welch’s) friends”. She is also going to fulfill her dream of writing a musical with an old friend, with hopes of getting it into the West End, “We used to write songs about our lives and sing them to each other. We always said we should make them into a musical.”

The break might just lead to a refreshing restart for the English songbird because she needs to get inspired, “If I start writing songs now, all they’d be about is tour buses and hotel rooms.” I’m positive this will not be the last we will see of Welch and it’s not all bad news for fans of Florence + the Machine! You’ve got the love she needs to see it through.
