Green Day is coming up with a new album and we have heard two songs - Kill The DJ and Oh Love. Being a band whose temperaments we cannot keep up, Green Day decided to release a music video for the latter (and more mediocre) song first.
The Oh Love video was directed by Samuel Bayer, who has had a long running history of working with Green Day (from their American Idiot days). In the video, we see the band performing in a rehearsal space for a small bored audience of beautiful model-esque ladies. Only when the song starts to pick up, do we see the ladies acknowledging the three rockstars playing for them albeit half-heartedly.
Apparently, the intention of the music video is to show all the stereotypes of the rock star life, and is probably what one could picture the band's behind-the-scenes lives were like before they settled down and had kids.
We have heard better material from Green Day, both in terms of songs and music video. The guitar riff for the song seems pretty uninspired and the chorus is too bubblegum pop for me to handle. Let's not get started on the video. Minus the booze and the sex appeal, we are pretty much as bored as the models in the music video seem to appear.
