LISTEN: Childish Gambino Unveils 'Sour Face' Featuring Jay Rock!

By  July 20, 2012

Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) has teamed up with Jay Rock to release a new single, titled Sour Face!

For those of you who watch the American comedy, Community, you would know that Childish plays Troy Barnes, the ex-high school football star. Community is about a group of misfit adults who attend community college. He is also a writer for 30 Rock.

Personally, I’m a fan of Childish and I was thoroughly impressed with his first album, Camp. Unfortunately, Sour Face doesn’t quite cut it for me. Royalty, Childish’s second album, did not appeal to me too.

Sour Face sounds a tad too dark for me to appreciate. The rap verses that were done by Jay Rock kind of annoyed me a bit-probably due to the fact that his voice is of a lower octave range.

Nonetheless, I still maintain my belief that Childish is one hell of a talented artist who has a remarkable way of interjecting his wit and humour into his song verses.

Take a listen to Sour Face below!
