"Britain's Got Talent" singing sensation, Susan Boyle, was admitted to a clinic for exhaustion! For the initiated, or should I put it - aliens, Ms Boyle won over millions with her awesome rendition of "I Dreamed A Dream" from the musical Les Miserables during her audition. Her performance was uploaded on YouTube quickly and the video became an instant hit on the video sharing website. It has been watched more than 220 million times and is the 5th most watched video in YouTube history. Susan Boyle performed the same song on Saturday's finale, but was beaten by dance troupe Diversity - No less! Billions of people around the world - including me - are infuriated by her lost! She had got to win the title!
Anyway, I am actually more infuriated by the insensitive media reports on Susan Boyle. First, she was built up by the press on her angelic voice, her perseverance, and commitment to music etc. And then was dragged down by her looks, her awkwardness, and how she has never been kissed. What has that got to do with her being a contestant on the reality show? Of course, this is not the first case where notoriously aggressive media journalists caused harm to celebrities (I say celebrity cause Susan Boyle is already a celebrity - worldwide celebrity). I just hope these journalists would be more professional and ethical in future. Celebrities are also human and they deserve the respect and privacy everyone else deserves.
Get well soon, Susan. You are one talented woman.
